Using up the scraps.

After making the embellishment on the front of this card I had the idea to dive into my scrap pile (and it is a pile) and make a load of ready made embellishments. It's a process which may take a couple of hours but is so worth it as you end up with a neat pile of embellishments ready to go on cards or scrapbook layouts.

Firstly pull out your die cutting machine and a load of die cutting shapes.

Grab your off cuts and rejects pile - come on...I know you have one!

Then just go mad and cut. Don't think too much about it, just do it.

Take partial stamped images for an interesting feature.

You could always spray a few to give them a bit more pep.

Start to layer some together in pretty arrangements. It doesnt matter if you can't use all of them, the rest can be saved for the next session.

After a bit of stitching, some fabric scraps and a few gems were added, this is what I ended up with. They're so pretty and ready to go.

The only thing is they don't seem to have made much of a dent in my off cuts pile so the next time I have an afternoon free this is what I'll be doing.

I used a lot of my favourite Sizzix dies to make these embellishments and layering them together was a piece of cake. There's a sale on the site at the moment if you're interested in adding to your collection of dies just go here.

Try it for yourself.
